Planning for the Soaring Strings, Concert Band, and Choir trip to St. Louis is underway! We will be taking the trip on President's Day weekend of 2020. We will leave from school in the morning on Friday, February 14. We will take coach busses down to St. Louis. The trip is a little over four hours. Some of my favorite memories from trips in high school and college are the actual travel on the coach busses. It is a great chance to hang out with friends, relax, talk, play a game, watch a movie, or listen to some music. When we get to St. Louis all the ensembles will have a clinic with a professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. It is always a wonderful opportunity for us to work with other teachers so that we can improve our craft. Following the clinic we will go have dinner at Fitz's RootBeer where we will be able to see the root beer in production in the background while we dine. Following dinner we will go to the National Blues Museum. While there we will have a local blues musician provide us with music. We will then return to our hotel, The Drury Inn St. Louis-Forest Park. On Saturday we will go to the Gateway Arch National Park where we can enjoy the museum and actually go up in the arch. Then we will go to the City Museum that is has giant hamster-like tunnels that weave inside and outside the building, as well as other architectural elements that you can climb all over. We will then have dinner at Ball Park Village, a gathering place full of restaurants and entertainment outside of the St. Louis Cardinal's Busch Stadium. Below you can find the packet of information for the trip.
